Winchester has a passion for service as exhibited by his myriad service positions to the Academy of Management, to the profession, and to the University of Minnesota. Most notably, he has served as Chair of the New Doctoral Student Consortium (NDSC), PhD Student Representative of the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management, PhD Student Representative of the Research Methods Division of the Academy of Management, advised multiple research projects including Alyssa Myers' award-winning Honors thesis, peer-reviewed for multiple conferences, and chaired several committees across the Academy of Management and the University of Minnesota.
